I wonder if this will ultimatly lead to a better standard of living for those people involved.

RIMM has announced an upward increase in the projected sales of Bleackberry Pearl cell phones. This upward increase in the quarterly target is based on samples from channel checks in T-Mobile stores.
I did a quick analysis on eBay.com sales for “Blackberry Pearl” and noticed the following data.
The analysis is based on a 30 Day period between Nov 2nd, 2006 and Dec 1st, 2006. (Price floor of $50 to remove accessories and cables)
Over $417,737 USD in sales and 1,204 listings were available in the period. The - rate or success rate was 90 %. The average price per unit is $334USD per unit.
Playstation 3 Sales on eBay December 5, 2006

I did some quick analysis using www.terapeak.com to research PlayStation 3 sales on eBay.com. Basiclly on average they sold for $1,236 USD / Console. Over 30,200 PlayStation 3 consoles were sold in 7 days between Nov 17th, 2006 and Nov 23rd, 2006. The most popular associated keywords included “PS3″ and “60GB”. Given the Microsoft xBox 360 Launch did roughly the same number of units but at a $718 USD average price; it is clear that PlayStation fetched a hefty premium.
